The guests were welcomed by the Vice – Rector for the Education and ECTS - Prof. RNDr. Zdenka Gálová, CSc. and by the Vice – Rector for the Science and Research prof. Ing. Ján Gaduš, PhD.
In the first part of the programme, the Ukrainian guests became familiar by means of presentation with the educational, research and international activity of the SUA. Subsequently they introduced their university which has similar directions as the SUA in Nitra and 13 thousand of students attend it. They expressed an interest in developing an active collaboration with the SUA in the field of education, science and research, the resolutions of international projects and programmes, in areas such as bioenergy, biotechnology, food safety, public administration, regional development and the like. This collaboration may also be developed through the academic mobilities of students, PhD students, teachers, the creation of joint scientific articles and publications, information networks and data banks, the exchange of existing materials and technologies of education. According to Prof. Danylenko, one option is the establishment of joint research centres for basic and applied research or the creation of common Slovak – Ukrainian Agro-Eco-Biotechnological business incubator.
The Vice-Rector Prof. Z. Gálová appreciated the declared possibilities for a cooperation. She informed that the SUA has traditionally a good cooperation with Ukrainian institutions. It has already signed several contracts with Ukrainian universities and institutions. As the Vice-Rector Prof. Ján Gaduš stated, a mutual cooperation between two universities is also possible within the program Horizon 2020 when the involvement of active partners into the challenges can only be beneficial.
Finally, the parties agreed to prepare a memorandum of understanding.
