SUA will cooperate with one of the most important universities in Peru

One of the most important universities in Peru, National Agrarian University – La Molina in Lima, expressed an interest in bilateral cooperation with the SUA.

One of the most important universities in Peru, National Agrarian University – La Molina in Lima, expressed an interest in bilateral cooperation with the SUA.

Prof. Dr. Eric Rendón Schneir, the representative of NAU, conveyed this proposal to the management of the SUA in Nitra. He was invited to the Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development of the SUA within the joint master programme in rural development of the programme Erasmus Mundus – IMRD coordinated by Prof. JUDr. Anna Bandlerová, PhD., the Dean of FESRD.

On March 10, 2015 the distinguished guest was welcomed by the Rector of the SUA Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD. The meeting was also attended by the Prof. RNDr. Zdenka Gálová, CSc., the Vice-Rector for  Education and ECTS, Prof. JUDr. Anna Bandlerová, PhD.,the Dean of FESRD, doc. Ing. Loreta Schwarczová, PhD.,the Head of the Center of International Programs of FESRD and Mgr. Vladislav Valach, the Head of the International Relations Office.

At the beginning of the meeting Prof. Dr. E. R. Schneir informed about his university which has similar interests as the SUA. NAU has eight faculties focused on agronomy, natural sciences, forestry, economics and management, food resources, agricultural machinery, fishing and livestock. Currently 4 500 students study and 300 educational staff work there. Prof. E. R. Schneir stated that the university is interested in international exchange of students and teachers, the involvement of its experts in scientific research activities of the SUA. The Rector Prof. P. Bielik said that the cooperation is possible also within the project Building of Research Center “AgroBioTech” or the involvement in the activities of the Visegrad University Association. Prof. E. R. Schneir mentioned that they will appreciate cooperation with our experts also within the activities of the National Centre for Research of Potatoes and Maize in Peru.

At the end of the meeting the memorandum about mutual cooperation between SUA and NAU was signed. The next stage is the definition of concrete areas of cooperation.
