As many as 91.39% of graduates of the Master’s study at the Slovak University of Agriculture in the academic year 2023/2024 are currently employed. This follows from a questionnaire survey among graduates. About one fifth of them found employment already during their studies.
The survey confirmed the high employability of our graduates on the labor market. The latest ranking of the largest job portal Profesia.sk for 2024 already showed that SUA is the third most sought-after university in Slovakia from the perspective of companies’ interest in graduates.
In the past year, 721 graduates completed Master’s studies at SUA. A total of 267 of them participated in the questionnaire survey, which represents 37.05%. Out of this number, as many as 244 are employed, 8.61% are not in an employment relationship, and 4.49% of respondents are currently looking for a job.
“I am extremely pleased with such positive feedback, because graduate employability in practice is the alpha and omega for our university. We want to produce graduates that the labor market needs. In this spirit, study programs are being adjusted, as well as the preparation of new professional study programs. We are constantly deepening cooperation with practice. We organize SUA Career Days, where students can meet employers, obtain necessary contacts, as well as information about job opportunities, internships, and work positions. We also have our own SUA job portal,” said SUA Rector Klaudia Halászová.
When asked whether they would again decide to study at SUA in Nitra, 171 graduates (64.04%) answered yes in the survey, and 42 (15.73%) answered that they would again choose SUA, but in a different field of study. Nine respondents (3.37%) would choose another faculty of SUA. Altogether, up to 83.14% of the surveyed graduates would study at SUA again, which points to satisfaction with the quality of teaching at the university. A total of 10.11% would choose another university with a similar focus, and 6.74% would choose another university with a different focus.
All graduates of these study programs found employment in their studied field: plant production management, plant nutrition and protection, international economics and development, rural development and rural tourism, and automobile transport systems.
The largest share of graduates (35%) found a job through commercial online job advertising, and 18% of respondents obtained employment already during their university studies and continued working.
