Laureates of Academic Nitra 2014 are Hornád and Poľana

Academic Nitra has come to the end and we know all the winners. The Czech folk ensemble Poľana got the title of Laureate AN 2014 in the category of the foreign ensembles. The folk ensemble Hornád from the University of Pavol Jozef Šafárik in Košice won the title in the category of national representatives. Hornád got the award for the second time and has proven its professionalism. The author of choreography for the both ensembles was Mgr. Štefan Štec.

The representative gala programme of 39th International Academic Folk Groups Festival Akademická Nitra 2014 took place on July 10 in Andrej Bagar Theatre. The programme brought joy and beauty of the artistic experience. Audience had a chance to enjoy performance of 11 national and 6 foreign folk ensembles from Russia, Italy, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic. The whole remarkable evening was directed by prof. Ondrej Debrecéni, who managed to prepare unforgettable event.
The jury represented by PaedDr. Angela Vargicová, doc. Ján Blaho, Dr. Stanislav Dužek, Ing. Marián Járek and the president of the jury PhDr. Ondrej Demo, had a challenging task to choose the best artists. At the end two of the ensembles got the title Laureate AN 2014. Hornád from Košice won the title with the folk performance “Chvíle”, among the foreign ensembles jury gave the title to the Czech ensemble Poľana for scenic performance “U molodych v Habure“.
Except the main awards jury also gave the special prizes for outstanding performance to the five international folk ensembles. Chigli de ´Mbrolo from Italy got the award for outstanding music, dance and song interpretation. Russian ensemble Russkaja pesnja earned the prize for outstanding vocal interpretation. Awarded was also female group from Polish ensemble Skalni and Folmanushowk from Hungary for outstanding interpretation of male dance group. Special award also got the ensemble Zobor from Nitra for remarkable story "Veselá je dedina, Agrokomplex začína" and scenic variation and music interpretation.
At the end of the gala programme prof. Elena Horská, president of AN 2014, gave the symbolic relay to the Technical University in Zvolen.
