Klaudia Halászová to continue as Rector of SUA for 2026–2030
01.04.2026Doc. Klaudia Halászová has been re-elected as Rector of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra for the 2026–2030 term. In the first round of rectorial elections held on 25 March, she stood as the sole candidate and received all 40 valid votes cast by members of the Academic Senate and the Board of Trustees.
This will mark her third consecutive term in office, following an amendment to the Higher Education Act permitting such continuity. Her appointment is subject to formal confirmation by the President of the Slovak Republic.
In her address to the Academic Senate and the wider academic community, she reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring continuity in governance while further advancing the University’s development. She identified three strategic pillars for the forthcoming period: uniqueness, sustainability, and excellence, while highlighting the University’s strong academic and research profile in agriculture, food sciences, and related disciplines.
She further emphasized the importance of key strategic initiatives, including the AgroForestry project implemented in cooperation with the Technical University in Zvolen, as well as the INVEST European University Alliance, both of which contribute to strengthening the University’s international standing.
