INVEST European University Symposium

Education, research, and innovation play an irreplaceable role in the development of European regions and ensuring their sustainability.
European university INVEST Alliance coordinated by the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra undertook to stimulate discussions on the role of European universities in the development of European regions and explore how research and innovative practices in education can contribute to regional sustainability, and organized an international symposium “Driving Regional Sustainability: Unleashing the Potential of European Education, Research, and Innovation through the INVEST European Universities Alliance”.
Hosted by France Universités, the symposium took place on May 26, 2023 in the premises of the Maison Irène and Frédéric Joliot-Curie in Brussels. In addition to active participation of experts representing the European Commission Directorate-General for Education and Culture, Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, European Education and Culture Executive Agency, Slovak Liaison Office for Research and Development in Brussels (SLORD) and East [&] North Finland EU Office, the INVEST Alliance actively involved students of partner universities to provide their insights and ideas within highlighted topics, such as entrepreneurial pathways, micro-credentials gained through short-term trainings such as summer and winter schools, and Living Labs.
