Cooperation agreement between the Confucius Institute and SUA signed

Also present at the meeting were Ing. Alena Malíčková (CI), Prof. Zdenka Gálová, Vice-rector for education and ECTS, Dr.Ľubomíra Moravcová, Head of the department of languages of FEM and Doc. Jozef Repiský, FEM Vice-dean for education.
The main objective is the cooperation in providing Chinese language teaching for our students, establishing a classroom as a prerequisite for the opening of the Confucius class at SUA, organizing courses on Chinese language, as well as other activities, eg. vocational programmes, summer schools, exchanges of students and teachers and activities related to Chinese language and culture. The teaching of Chinese language is expected to start in September 2014. The Confucius Institute will provide a lecturer as well as teaching materials for free. Prof. Bielik explained that teaching Chinese language at SUA will contribute to enhancing the quality of education at the university.
Confucius Institute in Bratislava is one of the 300 institutes based around the world and falls under the administration of Hanban. It is based at the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava. It started to operate in the summer semester of 2009, after the arrival of Chinese lecturers in Slovakia.
