Brazilian experts are interested in cooperation with SUA

Ing. Ján Gaduš, PhD., and the Head of Foreign Relations and International Projects Office, Mgr. Vladislav Valach.
On December 9, the representatives of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco in Brazil -prof. Leucio Alves a prof. Anísio Soares visited SUA in Nitra. At the beginning of the meeting Brazilian experts briefly informed about their University which was founded in 1912 and currently almost 8 thousand of students attend it. In the sphere of education, science and research, the university is focused on forestry, physics, mathematics, chemistry, fishery and aquaculture, veterinary medicine as well as agronomy, biology, informatics and statistics, morphology and physiology of animals, regional development and animal husbandry. Especially in the above listed fields, but also in other ones, an active cooperation with SUA could be implemented.
“In 2011 our government has initiated a programme “Science without Borders”. In this programme the Brazilian scientists, technologists and innovators have the possibility to gain a new experience and knowledge in international development laboratories and foreign universities. This programme is fully financed by the Brazilian federal government. The programme creates a unique opportunity also for Slovak research centres and universities to develop in this way a mutually beneficial cooperation, “said prof. Leucio Alves. Brazil belongs to the world leaders in many sectors of research, especially in the field of applied research in agricultural production, pharmacy and in some areas of engineering.
Rector of SUA prof. Peter Bielik informed the guests about the orientation of the faculties, study programmes and research at SUA. He informed also about the realization of the project Building of research centre “AgroBiotech”, about the activities of the excellent centres at SUA as well as about the international cooperation of European projects Erasmus Mundus and Erasmus+. He outlined the perspective possibilities for the cooperation.
At the end of the meeting the representatives of the Universities agreed to prepare the agreement about the cooperation between the both universities.
