Academic Ranking and Rating Agency (ARRA) submitted already the tenth evaluation of faculties of Slovak universities in November. It was based on publicly available and verifiable data about the quality of education and research of particular faculties for the year 2013.
Academic Ranking and Rating Agency (ARRA) submitted already the tenth evaluation of faculties of Slovak universities in November. It was based on publicly available and verifiable data about the quality of education and research of particular faculties for the year 2013.
112 faculties (104 of them were public and 8 of them were from the private universities in 11 branches of study groups) were evaluated. The evaluation criteria were divided in five basic categories – education, attractiveness of study, research, PhD study and success of grants. How did the faculties of SUA succeed? In the category of technical sciences, Faculty of Engineering was placed in the 23th place, the last year it was in the 21th place. In the group of agricultural sciences the faculties keep their positions – Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Resources stayed in the 3rd place, Faculty of Agrobiology and Food Sciences is in the 4th place and the Horticulture and Landscape Engineering Faculty ended up in the fifth place. The Faculty of Economics and Management keeps its second position from the last year in the category of economic sciences. In the category of other social sciences, the Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development remains in the fourth place.
